Instructor Program Description and Core Outcomes
The instructor program is offered as a comprehensive course to those who are licensed barbers and cosmetologists seeking their instructor license. This program complies with the board requirements of curriculum and hours. Those interested in gaining instructor licensing will be eligible to teach in facilities within their field. The requirements for those who are interested in pursuing this special license are as follows:
- Be at least 17 years of age and have completed 10th grade or equivalent.
- Hold a current license in NM as a practitioner in the field your pursuing instructor license.
- Possess the requisite skill to use a computer or tablet for distance education and sign admission forms.
Instructor Program Enrollment Schedule
The instructor program is available for enrollment at any time, those who are interested in the program are asked to contact the school for additional information.
Instructor Program – Full Time
This program is offered online with a weekly hour requirement of 40 hours per week. Students may flex their daily attendance provided that each Sunday at midnight the weekly assignments and hour requirements have been completed. The total duration of the course is approximately 25 weeks.
Instructor Program – Part Time
This program is offered online as well with a weekly hour requirement of 20 hours per week. Students may flex their daily attendance provided that each Sunday at midnight the weekly assignments and hour requirements have been completed. The total duration of the course is approximately 50 weeks.

Course Completion Requirements
Before receiving documentation from the school of satisfactory completion, the student must achieve a 90% or higher GPA, and have paid in full their tuition, fees, and all associated charges owed to the school. Students will know at any time what their grade point average is through the course and be made aware via email each month of their account balance due.
After Completing Course
Instructor candidates will have 12 months from the date of completion to pass the required exams and obtain licensure. Students will be provided a colored passport 2x2 photo and their transcript of training with an official seal. There is only one exam that is required to be taken and completed with a minimum of 75%.

The fees to take the exam are subject to change and are not controlled by or paid to the school. Students are responsible for all fees regarding application and licensing.
