Expired Barber License Refresher Program
This program is for licensed barbers who have had their license expire for an extended period of time and would like to be current and qualified once again. The program reintroduces concepts, methods, and laws in barbering and satisfies the state curriculum requirements to regain licensure.
Refresher Program Description and Core Outcomes
This program is tailored to each individual student. A written and practical placement exam is administered to understand where the student needs to focus their studies and a course is created for their unique situation.
Refresher Program Enrollment Schedule
Students seeking to enter the program can enroll at any time due to our asynchronous class curriculum.
The Refresher Program is offered as a hybrid course. The majority of the instruction is taught and practiced in person, but students will also be responsible for online coursework.
The program offers two full time and three part time sessions per day Monday – Friday. This allows students the ability to work toward their barber license while having the flexibility to take care of other life needs.
Refresher Program – Full Time
This program is offered as a Monday through Friday class that is 8 hours per day with an online component of 2 hours per day. Class scheduling is flexible so that students can enroll in their choice of two different time slots to complete the hours they need. Weekend class is held for regular students on a as needed basis. This program from start to finish takes approximately 4 weeks to complete.
Refresher Program – Part Time
Part time enrollment places an emphasis on flexibility while pursuing licensure. Offered to all interested, this is a Monday through Friday class 4 hours per day with an online component of 5 hours per week. Students choose the class they want to attend from the three choices Monday through Friday and weekends are held on a as needed basis.
This program from start to finish takes approximately 6 weeks to complete.

Course Completion Requirements
Before receiving documentation from the school of satisfactory completion, the student must achieve an 85% or higher GPA, and have paid in full their tuition, fees, and all associated charges owed to the school. Students will know at any time what their grade point average is through the course and be made aware via email each month of their account balance due.
After Completing Course
After satisfactory completion of the 150-hour learning, students can then schedule the national written, national practical, and state law written exams that are required for licensure. There are 3 different exams that must be passed with a minimum score of 75 percent for each considered passing.
- Practical exam through NIC.
- Theory exam through PSI.
- State law written jurisprudence exam.
After successful completion of the exam, students will provide the documentation and fees be issued their license and hold the right and privilege to use the initials R.B. following their surname. The fees associated with final licensing are subject to change that we reference prior to course completion, these fees are not determined by or received from the school.
